Our Story

In 2017 the very first sketch was made for this spectacular building. The ambition was clear, to show the gratefulness that the owners felt towards Greenland, how much Greenland meant to them – by building a true “Greenlandic” building in Nuuk – the astonishing architecture showing and reflecting the love for Greenland and her nature.

As the architects explained: The three levels indoor reflects the Greenlandic nature. The ground floor will be stone, alluding to the underground, while the middle floor will be glass, alluding to the ice. The roof floor will be clad in heat-treated pine, which has a natural patina and is reminiscent of wooden fish boxes and kayak racks.

In the end of 2023, the building is finally ready to open for customers and it is indeed amazing: The wooden slats both outside and inside reflects the culture of Greenland, all the magnificent windows being the ice and water surrounding Greenland – and the concrete base in exciting formats mirroring the mountains and rocks from this exciting land.
